The performance “Multimedia Experiment Vol. I” in 2018 at the Haus der Begegnung in Innsbruck was part of the extraordinary format “Symposium of a Different Kind” by the art collective Wildwuchs.
This performance created an experimental space in which different art media intertwined through direct interactions and formed a dynamic collective creation. The installation “Artifacts of Failure” not only served as a backdrop, but also inspired the themes and expressions of those involved.
Ivona Aya, Bertram Schrecklich, Ignus Ajpuu alias Ministik and myself were actively involved in this multimedia communication.
Bertram tattooed himself live, I used the blood that was spilled and the excess ink directly from his thigh to create an image, while Ministik generated abstract techno sounds from the hum of the tattoo machine. Ivona Aya used the live recordings and projections to add atmosphere to the merged performance.
The works of the participants, a mixture of permanent art and fleeting moments, unfold above all in their interaction and created a “media composition” in the field of tension between body, technology and space.
